Suno Textile Bangles at Maryam Nassir Zadeh

If you love Suno as much as I do, you might want to reach out and grab a pretty swatch of them with these cool textile bangles, now available at Maryam Nassir Zadeh. Prices range from $75 to $115, depending upon each width. I love seeing these fine snippets of Suno's collections on the wrists of chic women who can live with less and look like so much more.

Afia's New Capsule Collection to be Debuted at Guilded

Cannot wait to attend the official debut of the Afia collection at Guilded in NYC on May 5th. Created out of traditional West African textiles by pattern makers in Chicago and NYC in conjunction with the fair trade Dzidefo Women's Cooperative in the village of Kpando, Ghana, Afia's Summer 2011 capsule collection is the creative vision of designer Meghan Sebold.

All of these stunningly bold fabrics are sourced from small vendors in Ghana, and as part of 'urban indigenous' chic and sustainable production storytelling, create a bridge to 'history, proverbs, moral values, and social codes' with their traditional, though contemporary, motifs.

For more information on the upcoming May 5th event and a line up of other designers who will be participating visit Guilded's event page. And isn't model Fardosa Mohamed, gorgeous?

Juma SS 2011: The Wilder Side of Conscious Fashion

I am not an animal print sort of gal, but I really like these exotic digital prints generated by Juma Studio for their Spring/Summer 2011 collection. I spied the 'Juma Jumper' at Kaight NYC a weekend or so ago, and the art/fashion artistry was totally wild. If a full-on outfit is not your thing, consider one of their laser-printed silk scarves. Gorgeous enough to frame and add to your art collection. You can follow Juma Studio's inspirational blog here.

Adie + George AW 2011 collection

Bodkin Babes Spring/Summer 2011

Is there such thing as a 'Bodkin babe'? I am beginning to think so based on these cool and innovate mix and match separates for Spring/Summer 2011. The overall message of awareness is so sexy and the subtle hues are universal. Find more babe-looks here.

Upstate Shibori at Kaight Shop

I loved seeing these shibori wraps by Upstate while visiting Kaight with my friends from EcoSalon and Green Beauty Team this past weekend. Indigo and natural plant dyes are definitely the rage at the moment, with recent art installations and textile studios getting in on the action and rewards of this hands-on process. You can read more about shibori in my recent post on the Textile Arts Center's Teem exhibition and Japan fundraiser.

You can find Upstate's 100% raw silk and natural indigo
dye wraps via Kaight's online shop.
